Case Study 01: King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) Infrastructure

Project Overview

ECS was contracted to supply and install complete main distribution panel boards (MDB) and sub-main distribution boards (SMDB) for a major commercial mixed-use development within King Abdullah Economic City, covering over 250,000 m² of built-up area.

Challenge

The project demanded switchgear capable of handling extremely high fault-level currents in a humid coastal environment, while complying with both Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) regulations and IEC 61439 standards within an aggressive construction timeline.

IP54 protection class enclosures for coastal humidity resistance
Integrated SCADA-compatible metering and remote monitoring
