Q1. What is the maximum current rating for ECS switchgear panels?
ECS manufactures LV switchgear panels with current ratings from 63A up to 6300A. Busbar ratings above 6300A can be engineered on a project-specific basis. All panels are fully type-tested per IEC 61439-1 & IEC 61439-2.
Q2. What protection class (IP rating) options are available?
Standard IP ratings available are IP31, IP41, IP54, IP55, and IP65. IP66 and IP67 options are available for outdoor, coastal, and washdown environments on special order. All ratings are tested per IEC 60529.
Q3. Can ECS panels be configured for withdrawable circuit breakers?
Yes. ECS offers both fixed and withdrawable (draw-out) configurations. Withdrawable designs allow circuit breakers to be removed from the panel without de-energising the entire switchboard, reducing maintenance downtime significantly.
Q4. Do ECS panels comply with IEC 61439?
All ECS panel assemblies are designed, manufactured, and type-tested in accordance with IEC 61439-1 (General Rules) and IEC 61439-2 (Power Switchgear & Controlgear Assemblies). Full type-test reports are available on request.
Q5. Can ECS supply ATEX / IECEx certified panels for hazardous areas?
Yes. ECS supplies panels certified for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas to ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and IECEx standards. Available protection concepts include Ex e (increased safety) and Ex d (flameproof) enclosures.
