Project Setup

A project groups everything belonging to one site: the single line diagram, the panel schedules, the I/O list and the commissioning records. Setting it up properly at the start saves rework later, because every drawing and test record produced afterwards inherits the project reference.

Before you start

Have the approved single line diagram and the load schedule to hand. Without them the panel ratings cannot be fixed, and any configuration entered now will need revisiting.

Creating the project

1. Open the projects view and choose New Project.
2. Enter the site name, the client reference and the project number issued by your ECS contact.
3. Set the supply characteristics: system voltage, frequency, fault level and earthing arrangement.
4. Add each panel or skid as a separate item, so schedules and test records stay per unit.
5. Attach the single line diagram and the load schedule.

What happens next

Once the project is saved, ECS engineering reviews the entered ratings against the attached drawings and raises any discrepancy before manufacturing begins. That review is where missing data gets caught, so it is worth completing every field rather than leaving placeholders.

Common mistakes

• Entering a design fault level instead of the utility declared fault level.
• Combining several panels into one item, which makes per panel test certificates impossible to issue.
• Leaving the earthing arrangement unset, which blocks the protection study.
